SALOON BAR
Synopsis:
Against a background of Christmas and the pending arrival of another baby for the landlord of the 'Cap and Bells' public house situated in London's West End, a group of locals lead by bookie Joe Harris set out to prove that former customer Eddie Graves is not guilty of the murder for which he is due to be hanged in the morning.
BHTC NOTES: No longer able to perform at St. Andrews Church Hall, the club settled on performing (for this one show) in the Boxing Club Hall in Leylands Road.
Advertised as one of the first productions of it's time in the South making use of this 'Show in an Arena' (commonly now known as 'In The Round'), the play involved a large cast and was a great financial and artistic success.
